Flights
Flights from England to Malta are available from a range of airlines. Easyjet are normally the cheapest option - but remember, they will charge you for check-in luggage and you can only take one piece of hand luggage!
Air Malta are another good option and their price is inclusive of check in luggage. Occasionally they do fantastic deals (which I have emailed to you) selling flights one way for 44 Euros! Otherwise, you will find them a little more expensive than Easyjet.
Alternatives also include Ryanair and British Airways.

Malta's Airport & Transfers
Malta is a small island with a tiny airport! (Don't expect to do your holiday shopping in their one little shop!)
The airport is located at Luqa LQA 4000, Malta - approximately a 20 minute car journey from St Julians.
You can always grab a taxi from/to the airport to St Julians (i.e. The Argento Hotel) will cost approximately 20 Euros one way if not pre-booked. There is a small ticket desk where you must first pay and collect a ticket before getting in a cab.
Or, you can book a shuttle transfer direct at http://www.maltatransfer.com/ where a return trip will cost you only 16 Euros per person if booked ahead online.
Local Buses
The public bus transport system in Malta is fantastic. As the island is small and there is no rail transport, Malta's bus service can be relied upon to get you around the island in a very easy and economical way. You can literally get anywhere you want on these public buses and the frequency is surprising!
To make it even easier, use this handy journey planner at http://www.publictransport.com.mt/searchresults
Or visit http://www.publictransport.com.mt/bus-timetable-library for bus timetables
We heavily recommend you just hop on a bus and get out and explore... we found some magical places this way and it was fun getting lost... as you can always find your way back on such a small island!
